They are not.
Cosmetic laser gynecology procedures such as labioplasty and hoodoplasty are consensual. Females get these procedures to ease pain during intercourse, decrease embarrassment and to better their sex lives.
Female genital mutilation has no health benefits for girls and women, and is done to intentionally alter the vagina for non-medical reasons. FGM can cause severe bleeding and problems urinating. Later in the woman’s life, potential childbirth complications and newborn deaths can occur.
FGM involves partial or complete removal of the external female genitalia. An estimated 100 to 140 million females around the world are living with the consequences of this procedure. Typically, this procedure is carried out on young girls between infancy and age 15.
“Female genital mutilation is a violation of human rights,” says Dr. Scheinberg, a vaginoplasty surgeon. “I want to raise awareness, and show that what I do is to benefit women-not harm them.”
The long-term effects of FGM include:
• Chronic bladder and urinary tract infections
• Infertility
• Complications during childbirth, and risk of newborn deaths
• Cysts around the female organs
Vaginal reconstruction expert Dr. Scheinberg discusses the different types of FGM.
Type I: Clitoridectomy- This is the partial or complete removal of the clitoris.
Type II: Excision- The partial or complete removal of the clitoris and labia minora.
Type III: Infibulation- Making the vaginal opening narrower by creating a seal. The seal is created by cutting and moving the inner or outer labia.
Type IV: Other – Other procedures include pricking, piercing, scraping and cauterizing the vaginal area.
FGM is a common practice in western, eastern and northeastern regions of Africa, and in some countries in Asia and the Middle East. It is also common in immigrant communities of North America and Europe.
Severe pain, heavy bleeding, bacterial infections and open sores are just a few of the immediate complications for females undergoing FGM. This procedure can interfere with the natural function of their bodies.
“We offer a reconstructive surgery of infibulated scars, which are associated with type III genital cutting,” says Dr. Scheinberg. “Defibulation can alleviate some of the complications associated with this form of FGM.”
It is important for everyone to understand the difference between cosmetic gynecology and FGM practices. Labiaplasties and hoodoplasties are performed to benefit women. FGM is a form of torture, and is performed against the female’s wishes.

DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA – Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a cosmetic vaginal reconstruction surgeon, is offering natural and artificial fillers for those who want a plump, youthful appearance to their vagina.
The labia majora are the outer, bigger vaginal lips of the vagina. Aging, pregnancy, childbirth and genetics can affect the way the labia majora look. Often, the labia majora may become flat or wrinkled because of stretching.
“Many women prefer to have a plump, youthful look to their vagina,” says Dr. Scheinberg, a laser reduction labiaplasty expert. “This can be accomplished with a natural or artificial filler.
Vaginoplasty provider Dr. Scheinberg explains the difference between the two fillers.
DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA – A hymenoplasty procedure can be performed if you would like to restore your hymeneal integrity. Some women may undergo this procedure to create a second virginity.
The procedure typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, and it can be performed at our Center for Cosmetic Laser Gynecology surgical center. Dissolvable stitches can be used to reconnect the membrane that once partially covered the opening to the vagina.
“Once the procedure is over, you can return to your normal activities in a day or two,” says Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a South Florida labiaplasty/labioplasty expert. “The entire healing process takes six to eight weeks.”

DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA – Many women may suffer from symptoms of vaginal prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.
Difficulty controlling urine and changes in bowel habits are typically the two most common symptoms.
“Vaginal prolapse is a problem in which structures such as the uterus, bladder, urethra, small bowel, or the vagina itself begin to fall out of their normal positions,” says Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a vaginaplasty/vaginoplasty expert. “Without treatment, the structures may prolapse farther.”
Dr. Scheinberg, a vaginal rejuvenation/reconstruction specialist, explains the different types of vaginal prolapse.
Rectocele, Or Prolapse Of The Rectum
This form of prolapse involves the back wall of the vagina. When it weakens, the rectal wall pushes against the vaginal wall. This may result in a bulge and could become noticeable during bowel movements. This may occur as a result of injuries sustained during childbirth. Read the rest of this entry »
DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA – Most women may experience some degree of damage to their vagina throughout their lifetime.
The damage and irregularities of a woman’s vagina can cause low self-esteem and hinder her sex life. Whether you suffer from embarrassment or decreased sensation, there could be a procedure right for you.
Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a laser vaginoplasty/vaginaplasty expert, explains the top five reasons why women should consult a cosmetic gynecologist.
Embarrassment Or Discomfort
Many women may develop large or irregular labia, and this can cause them to experience embarrassment, low self-esteem or discomfort while exercising and decreased sensation.
DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA – VASER Lipo involves three steps that can give you a smooth, sculpted appearance. It can also be used to obtain fat for transfer to enhance other areas.
Traditional liposuction can damage the surrounding tissue of the targeted area, resulting in a lumpy, uneven appearance.
“VASER Lipo is precise and gentle,” says Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a vaginal laser surgery professional. “This procedure can give you the result you want in less time, with a quicker recovery and less discomfort.”
Dr. Scheinberg offers the advanced lipo technique to those who want to remove fat unaffected by diet and exercise alone or want to build up special areas. Read the rest of this entry »

Deerfield Beach, FL – Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a Florida cosmetic gynecology specialist, offers a unique procedure to restore the vaginal rugae in women who have experienced damage to the area.
The procedure helps restore sexual pleasure for both partners.
Rugae are ridges that line the inside of the vagina. The friction and nerve stimulation on the rugae increase pleasure while the penis moves back and forth along them during intercourse. Rugae, therefore, play an important role in determining how much sexual pleasure a woman and her partner will experience. But childbirth, the aging process and other conditions can cause loosening in the vagina, which also includes a stretching out of the ridges so that they no longer provide the same degree of stimulation. Sexual pleasure can be reduced or lost. Read the rest of this entry »
Deerfield Beach, FL – Almost all women will experience some kind of damage to or deterioration in their vagina, and this often results in self-consciousness or loss of self-esteem.
However, notes Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a Florida expert doing vaginal reconstruction and labiaplasty, surgical techniques can enhance the functioning and sensitivity of the vagina – and improve women’s quality of life.
Many women experience a sensation of looseness in the vaginal area and a loss of sensation during intercourse as they age, or after childbirth. It may be that the sensitivity isn’t what it used to be or that the muscles don’t function as well. Some women have pain during sex or experience stress urinary incontinence.
