What Is The Urethral Sphincter?

Practice News

MIAMI, WEST PALM, FORT LAUDERDALE AND DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA – The vagina is made up of different muscles and tissues. It is important for a woman to understand what is going on down there.
The urethral sphincter consists of two muscles that can control the flow of urine through the urethra. These two muscles are called the external and internal urethral sphincter. When you contract these two muscles, your urethra is sealed shut.
The contracting of the external and internal urethral sphincter is also known as the Kegel exercise. Many gynecologists recommend you do these exercises to help tighten the vaginal walls during and after pregnancy.
Cosmetic gynecology surgeon Dr. Mark Scheinberg explains the two urethral sphincter muscles in depth.
External Sphincter Muscle
Located around the back, base of the bladder, and is made up of skeletal muscle. This makes it under voluntary control of the somatic nervous system.
The external sphincter muscle is also made up of three different parts, the sphincter urethra, urethrovaginal sphincter muscle and the compressor urethrae muscle.
Internal Sphincter Muscle
Located near the base of the bladder and adjacent to the urethra, the internal sphincter muscle is a continuation of the detrusor muscle. This is under involuntary control, and is the primary muscle that can restrict the flow of urine.
“Despite what many people may say, males do not have a stronger urethral muscle,” says Dr. Scheinberg, a labioplasty expert. “There is also not any difference between the amounts of urine each sex can hold in their bladder.”
As a woman, you need to urinate more because your bladder shares space with the uterus, which is why childbirth can wreak havoc on your bladder and the supporting tissues of the vagina.
Near the end of labor, the baby’s body will descend through the birth canal. When you reach the point of being 10 centimeters dilated, it’s time to push. The supporting tissues around the vagina can separate and weaken.
A weakened pelvic floor and surrounding muscles could cause the bladder to descend. Surgery to take up the bladder may be an option to correct this. Vaginal reconstruction surgery can tighten the vaginal walls and restore the natural shape.
If you are suffering from vaginal looseness due to childbirth, it can result in a lack of sensation during sex and lowered gratification.
Knowing your body inside and out can result in a better sex life for you and your partner.

Cosmetic Gynecologist Speaks In China

Practice News

FORT LAUDERDALE AND DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA – Last month, Dr. Mark Scheinberg, visited Hainan, China, and spoke at the 15th World Congress on Controversies in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility.

During this speaking arrangement that took place Dec. 8-12, the cosmetic-plastic gynecology group was given a plenary session to introduce cosmetic gynecology. This was a first for this field of gynecology. The group consisted of Professor Adam Ostrzenski, of St. Petersburg, FL, Dr. Troy R Hailparn, of San Antonio, TX and Dr. Mark Scheinberg, of Deerfield Beach, FL.

Dr. Scheinberg, a Fort Lauderdale vaginoplasty specialist, discusses the topics he recently spoke about at this congress.

Clitoral Hoodoplasty
Reasons to get a clitoral hoodoplasty may be from a buried, hypertrophic-gaping or asymmetrical subdermal hypertrophy. Buried means the hood opening is slightly or completely closed. Hypertrophic-gaping means the foreskin of the clitoris is too long, thick or both. Asymmetrical subdermal hypertrophy means the thickness of the hood is uneven.

There are two techniques of a clitoral hoodoplasty. Restorative surgery is performed to rebuild a destroyed opening of the clitoral hood caused by skin conditions, or female circumcision, and bring back the lost prepuce without causing in nerve damage. Ostrzenski’s Hyrodissection with Reverse V-Plasty can be performed to correct this.

Reductive surgery decreases the length and thickness of the clitoral prepucial tissue. Ostrzenski’s Modified Hydrodissection with Reverse V-Plasty or Ostrzenski’s Subepithelial methods can be used during this technique
Labia Minora Labioplasty
Another topic of discussion included the different forms of labioplasty available, and ones that are unethical to perform. There are nine methods of performing labia minora labioplasty but only four techniques are applicable to use

Labia Majora Labioplasty
During the topic of labia majora labioplasty, Dr. Scheinberg, a designer labioplasty specialist,
explained the five labia majora labioplasty procedures that are applicable, and the two that are not. Horizontal Labia Majora Labiaplasty and Vertical Labia Majora Labiaplasty techniques are non-applicable to perform due to the scars left behind.

“I also discussed the different fillers available for the labia majora,” says Dr. Scheinberg, a vaginal reconstruction surgeon. “The natural and artificial fillers can provide you with a plump, youthful appearance.”

Types And Causes Of Vaginal Prolapse

Article

DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA – Many women may suffer from symptoms of vaginal prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.
Difficulty controlling urine and changes in bowel habits are typically the two most common symptoms.

“Vaginal prolapse is a problem in which structures such as the uterus, bladder, urethra, small bowel, or the vagina itself begin to fall out of their normal positions,” says Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a vaginaplasty/vaginoplasty expert. “Without treatment, the structures may prolapse farther.”
Dr. Scheinberg, a vaginal rejuvenation/reconstruction specialist, explains the different types of vaginal prolapse.

Rectocele, Or Prolapse Of The Rectum
This form of prolapse involves the back wall of the vagina. When it weakens, the rectal wall pushes against the vaginal wall. This may result in a bulge and could become noticeable during bowel movements. This may occur as a result of injuries sustained during childbirth. Read the rest of this entry »

DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA – VASER Lipo involves three steps that can give you a smooth, sculpted appearance. It can also be used to obtain fat for transfer to enhance other areas.

Traditional liposuction can damage the surrounding tissue of the targeted area, resulting in a lumpy, uneven appearance.
“VASER Lipo is precise and gentle,” says Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a vaginal laser surgery professional. “This procedure can give you the result you want in less time, with a quicker recovery and less discomfort.”

Dr. Scheinberg offers the advanced lipo technique to those who want to remove fat unaffected by diet and exercise alone or want to build up special areas. Read the rest of this entry »

Vaginal Reconstruction Can Improve Women’s Self-Confidence

Article

Deerfield Beach, FL – Almost all women will experience some kind of damage to or deterioration in their vagina, and this often results in self-consciousness or loss of self-esteem.

However, notes Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a Florida expert doing vaginal reconstruction and labiaplasty, surgical techniques can enhance the functioning and sensitivity of the vagina – and improve women’s quality of life.

Many women experience a sensation of looseness in the vaginal area and a loss of sensation during intercourse as they age, or after childbirth. It may be that the sensitivity isn’t what it used to be or that the muscles don’t function as well. Some women have pain during sex or experience stress urinary incontinence.
