MIAMI, PALM BEACH, FORT LAUDERDALE AND DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA – Are you one of the many women who feels self-conscious about the way they look down there? Is the skin covering your clitoris overgrown, too dark for your liking and reducing sensation and pleasure? It can be fixed.

The clitoral hood is a fold of skin that protects the clitoral glans and develops as part of the labia minora. It can be partially or entirely attached to the clitoris resulting in the clitoris being hidden. This can cause pain prior to and during intercourse or act like padding that reduces contact and pleasure.

A hoodoplasty procedure can transform a thickened, discolored or elongated clitoral hood to a natural look and allow more sensation. Dr. Mark Scheinberg, a vaginoplasty/vaginaplasty surgeon, explains three classifications for clitoral hood characteristics.Occluded- the hood opening is slightly or completely closed, and the clitoris could be buried under the skin.

Hypertrophic-Gaping- The foreskin of the clitoris may be too long, thick or both.

Asymmetrical Subdermal Hypertrophy- The thickness of the clitoral hood is uneven.
“Each of these characteristics requires a different surgical procedure,” says Dr. Scheinberg, a Miami vaginal rejuvenation/reconstruction specialist. “Intervention can transform the clitoris to a more aesthetic appearance and create more pleasure for you.”

Palm Beach labiaplasty/labioplasty provider Dr. Scheinberg discusses the two techniques of hoodoplasty.

Restorative
This procedure is performed to rebuild the destroyed opening of the clitoral hood, which usually is due to skin conditions etc., and bring back the lost prepuce without causing permanent nerve injuries.

The surgeon can excavate the tip of the clitoris from the partially or completely closed opening of the clitoral hood first by opening the overlying skin. Sterile saline can be used to separate the hood from the clitoral adhesions. Then the skin is closed, leaving the exposed clitoral glan.

“This technique can prevent complications of clitoral numbness,” says South Florida restorative vaginal surgery expert Dr. Scheinberg. “Clitoral numbness use to be associated with the use of metallic-rigid instruments.”

Reductive
This technique is used to decrease the elongated length and thickness of the clitoral prepucial tissue. The reductive method can also lessen the uneven thickness of the clitoral hood.

The hydrodissection with reverse V-plasty surgical method process is used to divide the adhesions between the inner surface of the clitoral prepuce and clitoris. The extra prepucial tissue is excised during the reverse V-plasty and used to hide the suture lines and create a new clitoral prepucial opening. This procedure can be performed at the time of labioplasty.

“The reductive procedure can provide a very natural and pleasing look, as well as facilitate the clitoral glan and increase pleasure,” says Dr. Scheinberg, a Fort Lauderdale vaginal cosmetic surgery professional. This procedure can liberate the clitoris so you can have a better sexual experience for you and your partner.
